This was a project for the New School course "Illustration as a Visual Language" taught by John Jay Cabuay. We had to conceptualize a visual piece to correspond with the scientific article titled "Why do we Dream" by Brett Marroquin. An excerpt from his article (below) inspired my illustration.

"Dreams are strange things -- emotionally charged, intensely vivid parts of our nighttime lives in which the rules of the waking world seem not to apply... [dreams] may be the mind's attempt to interpret random firings within the brain -- without the logical reasoning -- is what allows us, at night, to defy the laws of gravity and fly."
