Friend-of-a-Friend was an intentional singles mixer for 60 NYC-based cuties open to love designed to combat internet-dating burnout by curating intentional, in-person connections. The evening sat delicately between the formalized structure of speed-dating and the casual atmosphere of a friend’s backyard party.

From conceptualizing conversation prompts to designing the event’s visual identity, I ensured every detail encouraged authentic interaction and a welcoming atmosphere. This event prioritized woman + non-binary folks, as we'd heard many of these friends lament the disproportionate femme:masc ratio at other dating events across the city.

Attendees wore colored ribbons to signify romantic interests:
- blue = *interested in women
- purple = interested in men
- green = interested in any gender

The event was a huge success: sold-out and waitlisted! The day after, we sent out a PDF of attendees with names, photos, and preferred ways of being contacted (phone, email, or Instagram) so folks could reach out to pursue further connection. We also surveyed all 60 attendees for feedback and were pleased by the results: over 95% of attendees said they'd return to a future event. More Friend-of-a-Friend events to come!
